FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport and general construction and is intended to strengthen the surface of the ballast layer, for example, of the railway track, tramline, etc. Prior to the application of the reaction mixture, the crushed stone of the ballast layer is dried with the stream of air under pressure. Then the temperature of the ballast layer is measured. If necessary, the ballast layer is heated to the temperature of +10 °C to +55 °C. Temperature and flow rate of the reactive mixture are selected based on the temperature of the ballast layer. As the reactive mixture, polyurethane, polyurea, epoxy resin, methyl methacrylate or compositions that are based on them are used.
EFFECT: technical result is the fixation of weakly fixed fine grains in the surface layer of the ballast prism by means of creating linear and spatial contact areas between small and large chips.
