SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image forming unit and an image forming apparatus. Result is achieved by an image pickup unit comprising: an image pickup unit including a first group comprising one or more pixels, and a second group comprising one or more pixels different from the pixels constituting the first group; and a control unit that outputs the corresponding pixel signals by performing charge accumulation in the case of the first group in a period in which a single charge accumulation cycle is performed, and in the case of the second group, by performing charge accumulation for a number of charge accumulation cycles different from the number of charge accumulation cycles in the case of the first group.
EFFECT: technical result is a wider dynamic range of the image forming unit.
