Photoelectric conversion assembly includes a first conductivity type semiconductor region, a second semiconductor region of a second conductivity type, a third semiconductor region of a first conductivity type thereunder and a fourth semiconductor region of a second conductivity type thereunder. First holding portion includes a fifth semiconductor region of a second conductivity type and a sixth semiconductor region of a first conductivity type therein at a depth of providing a third semiconductor region, and wherein the semiconductor region having a lower potential than each of the third semiconductor region and the sixth semiconductor region is provided between the third and sixth semiconductor regions.
