SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry, in particular to an isolated polypeptide having fungicidal activity against fungal pathogens Fusarium virguliforme, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium graminearum, Colletotrichum graminicola and Exserohilum turcicum and insecticidal activity against an insect, such as a western corn rootworm, a soybean looper and a bean caterpillar, a composition containing it, and an isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding it. Also, disclosed is a transgenic plant and its seed, an expression cassette, and a DNA construct containing the above isolated nucleic acid molecule. Further, the invention relates to a method for expressing a polynucleotide encoding an insecticidal protein in a plant, to a method for protecting a plant from an insect pest, as well as to a method for inhibiting the growth of an insect pest using the above composition.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to effectively combat insects and fungal pathogens.
