SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling wells, in particular to gamma-ray detection devices. Device for a rotating section of a rotary controlled system is proposed, comprising: external housing; a drive shaft located at least partially inside the outer housing and rotationally independent of the outer housing; a drill bit attached to a drive shaft; and at least one gamma ray detector rotationally connected to the drive shaft within the outer housing. Moreover, at least one gamma-ray detector measures gamma radiation emitted by the formation in one or more angular orientations relative to the drive shaft. Gamma-ray logging method using this device is also disclosed.
EFFECT: proposed invention makes it possible to increase the angular sensitivity of the obtained measurements.
