FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the contact device for a vacuum breaker and to the vacuum breaker. In order to control the arc that is formed during the shutdown in the vacuum breaker, the contact device (10) has been developed, which allows to impose a rotary motion on the arc, while keeping the arc scattered. Rotating scattered arc is obtained, wherein each electrode (12) of the contact device (10) comprises the continuous plate (20), which is connected to the base (30) of a petal type, two electrodes flip each other.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of thermal energy distribution.
