FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of determination of wear of contact elements of an electric switch. The method contains a stage of registration of electric values (I(t), U(t)) which represent electric parameters, relevant for the electric arch appearing during operation of switching as a function of time, and calculation of the wear value (d) representing wear of the contact element from a set of values of share of wear; the wear share values are calculated using a set of rules (f_i) of calculation of the wear share from the set of subsets (I(t_i); I([t_i; t'_i])) of the registered electric values, so that each of values of the wear share is calculated per respective one from rules of calculation of the wear share from respective one from subsets of values (I(t_i); I([t_i; t'_i])), at least, two of rules of calculation of the wear share differ from each other. The switch control unit contains the parameters input module and the wear determination module.

EFFECT: improvement of method efficiency.
