SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of a diene polymer or a static vinylarene-dien copolymer. Process comprises an anionic (co)polymerization of at least one conjugated diene monomer, optionally in the presence of at least one vinylarene, one hydrocarbon solvent, one lithium based initiator and one organic compound selected from 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy (TEMPO), 1,1,3,3-tetraethylisoindolin-2-yloxyl (TEDIO) or their mixtures.

EFFECT: increase in the stability of carbanionic / live end group(s) and an improvement in the regulation of the macrostructure of the resulting (co)polymer.
