FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a recombinant DNA construct for suppressing the expression of a protein coding sequence. Also disclosed is a transgenic plant containing said construct, a seed of said transgenic plant, part of said transgenic plant. Disclosed are a method for producing said recombinant RNA construct, a method for suppressing expression of a protein coding sequence in the male reproductive tissue of a transgenic plant, a method for inducing male sterility in a transgenic plant, a method for producing seeds comprising said DNA construct, a method for producing a commercial product from said plant or seed.
EFFECT: invention allows to suppress the expression of a protein coding sequence giving the plant tolerance to a herbicide.
