FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the restoration of the insulating surface of cathodically polarizable metal structures and structures. Method of restoration includes saturation of the parietal soil space in the area with damaged insulation continuity by pumping into the soil to the depth of the chemical reagent. As the reagent, an electroactive monomer immobilized in the form of a gel substance is pumped. Cathode potential is set at the surface of the structure, corresponding to the minimum release of hydrogen gas, at which the monomer is electrodeposited to form a solid film. Potential is maintained during the period necessary to form a polymer film on the exposed area that has an insulating capacity. Next, a local induction heating of the metal structure to 50 °C. Also provided is a method for reducing in a watered environment, an immobilized electroactive monomer based on epoxy-water-soluble adducts, and a method for imparting an electrodeposition property to a polymeric organic compound.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to restore an insulating surface without removing the old coating.
