FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for heat treatment of casting and deformable aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloys (variants). Method comprises alloy casting, a solution heat treatment followed by first aging of the aluminum alloy at a first temperature of from about 310 °F to 530 °F and during the first aging from 1 minute to 6 hours, and, then, second aging of the aluminum alloy at a second temperature for a second aging time of at least 30 minutes, with a second temperature lower than the first temperature.
EFFECT: provides increased corrosion resistance and resistance to fatigue crack growth.
