FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to surgical otolaryngology, and can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of surgical treatment of sphenoiditis. Preoperative computed tomography (CT) data of anatomical structures of facial skull and sphenoidal sinus sanation results are comparatively evaluated. Volume of the sphenoidal sinus is measured preoperatively according to CT data. For this, obtained CT images in DICOM format are imported into the planning system Varian Eclipse for the subsequent construction of the MPR image, on the basis of which the volume of the sphenoidal sinus is contoured and calculated. Intraoperatively in the horizontal position of a patient after sphenoidal sinus sanation of the sphenoid sinus, the sinus volume is further measured by introducing a liquid dye into the cavity of the sphenoidal sinus until the liquid flows out of the cavity. Volume of the introduced liquid dye is further compared with the result of preoperative measurement of the volume of the sphenoidal sinus and if a difference in volumes is less than or equal to 0.4 volume units, surgical treatment of sphenoiditis is estimated as effective.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of objective intraoperative evaluation of the effectiveness of surgical treatment of sphenoiditis, reduction of radiation load, prevention of repeated surgical intervention, persistent remission of the disease.
