METHOD OF TREATING POST-TRAUMATIC SINUSITIS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61F11/00

Abstract RU 2736280 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to otorhinolaryngology. Exposure is ensured by positive air pressure on the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses by means of a septic nasal agent contacting with the face of the patient by administration of medicinal agents. Sealed nasal agent is represented by a mask chosen according to the patient's physiological characteristics, thus ensuring tightness of the mask with the face connection when creating excessive pressure. Exposure to positive air pressure is carried out at the following physical indices: duration of exposure is 4 hours, air pressure is 4.5 hPa, air temperature is 23 °C. Functional condition of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity of the patient is evaluated daily. Motor activity of mucociliary clearance is assessed by counting the movement of the coal dust marker by determining the ciliary frequency of the ciliate epithelium. Condition of the conditioning function is also assessed by conducting the thermometry of the nasal cavity. Acid-base condition is also evaluated in the nasal cavity by performing the nasal secretion pH-metry. Exposure is stopped when the patient switches to independent breathing.

EFFECT: method enables higher clinical effectiveness of sinusitis in the patients on artificial pulmonary ventilation by activating aerobic glycolysis and improving the mucociliary transport parameters by eliminating the phenomena of tissue hypoxia, reducing the number of complications and reducing the length of rehabilitation of the patients.
