FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. Described is a group of inventions which includes a glycosylated polypeptide having interferon β activity and having better retention in blood compared to natural human interferon β (versions), and a pharmaceutical composition comprising said glycosylated polypeptide. In one embodiment, the glycosylated polypeptide comprises glycosylated amino acids in 4 to 6 positions, and wherein all of the non-reducing ends of the sugar chains are sialylated. In another embodiment, the glycosylated polypeptide is any polypeptide selected from the group consisting of: (1) a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO. 1; (2) a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO. 1, in which one to ten amino acids are removed, substituted or added; (3) a polypeptide having 90 % or more homology to the polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO. 1.
EFFECT: invention widens the range of glycosylated polypeptides having interferon β activity.
