FIELD: motors and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: method is used on the operating gas turbine engine (GTE) during its operation, and can be used in other technical means having the bearing assemblies lubrication system. For the metal particles (MP) detection in the operating gas turbine engine oil flow, performing the control in the flow two transverse cross sections by distant from each other two single-turn eddy current sensors, due to which the measuring circuit signal informative value is increased and enabling possibility to eliminate the interferences effect with the MP detection; determining the oil flow rate, recording the MP passage time through the oil flow controlled sections, and according to the measurement results, the technical condition of the engine is changed immediately during its operation, which makes it possible to detect in a timely manner the emergent defects of rubbing surfaces and take measures to prevent an emergency situation.

EFFECT: detection and recording of the metal wear particles in the operating GTE oil flow with the engine lubrication system oil pumping through the sensor passageway; metal magnetic or non-magnetic form identification; the information signal generation about the MP presence; lubrication system oil flow rate determination.
