FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental research of fire safety of electrical installations, in particular to estimation of flammability of metal particles, formed during short circuits (KZ) of veins of electric wires and cables in emergency operation of electric networks. A method for estimating fire hazard of metal particles formed during short circuit and device for its implementation (variants) in which ignition of particles are produced in zone of short-circuit arc discharge with parameter equivalent to process under study, particles are dumped onto reference combustible material and in frequency ignitions determine probability of fire of material. In device in zone of short-circuit formation, conductive contact surface is made in form of two electrodes from conductors under investigation, which are fixed in insulated holders in such a way that, when in contact, they can intersect in mutually perpendicular planes and in case of short-circuiting they form fire-hazardous particles of investigated metal. Device has camera, at bottom of which there is set of cells with combustible material being studied.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in reliability and accuracy of research.
