FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the system of measuring ground clearance. Vehicle has a ride-height measurement system containing an electromagnetic source, a magnetometer and a controller. Electromagnetic source is configured to generate a magnetic field at a predetermined frequency. Magnetometer is designed to measure the magnetic field strength. Controller is configured to filter the measurements of the magnetometer at a given frequency to extract a deviation of the magnetic field strength associated with the electromagnetic source, and determining the change in vehicle ground clearance.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the vehicle's ground clearance is achieved.
