FIELD: catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: preparation of iron-chromium oxide catalysts for the process of medium-temperature steam reforming of carbon monoxide. A method for preparing an iron-chromium catalyst by producing molded catalyst blocks for a high-temperature conversion reaction is disclosed. A composition containing divalent and trivalent iron and trivalent chromium is precipitated from an aqueous solution with a base, the precipitate is separated from the mother solution and washed. Then the catalyst mass is subjected to heat treatment and molding. In this case, the dissolution of the ferrous sulfate compound with the ferrous nitrate compound is carried out in a molar ratio of 1:1. The chromium (III) compound is contained in an amount from 1 to 10 wt.%, promoting additives - up to 5 wt.% in water. Co-precipitation is carried out by simultaneously mixing solutions of salts and a precipitant at a temperature of 50-75°C while maintaining pH values in the range of 7.0-8.5 with maturation of the resulting sediment for 15-60 minutes, washing the resulting sediment with demineralized water at 50-70°C and subsequent drying of the sediment at 60°C and calcination in air at 250°C.
EFFECT: increasing the activity of iron-chromium catalysts obtained by precipitation from solutions of sulfate salts in the process of medium-temperature CO conversion by creating a dispersed phase of hematite - a-Fe2O3, modified with chromium (III) oxides and promoting additives.
