SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the field of medicine, namely, to an absorbent article comprising, as an absorbent material, a fiber of water-insoluble C1-C6-alkylsulphonate of cellulose, wherein the cellulose is substituted with one type of a C1-C6-alkylsulfonate, wherein the fibers swell upon absorption of the liquid, wherein the absorbent article does not contain a hydrogel; and also to the use, as an absorbent material, of the water-swellable, water-insoluble C1-C6-alkylsulphonate of cellulose, swellable upon absorption of liquid, in which the cellulose is replaced by one type of C1-C6-alkylsulfonate.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides for the creation of a material with higher absorption properties, which improves wound healing.
