FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to a wound dressing composition, a wound dressing, a method for making a wound dressing composition and the use of a wound dressing composition. The composition includes a first layer of capillary material and a second layer of absorbent fibrous material. The absorbent material is capable of being pushed through the holes created by the needles in the layer of capillary material so that fibers of the absorbent material are able to pass or penetrate into and/or through the layer of capillary material. The capillary material and absorbent fibrous material are designed to be bonded to each other to form bonded layers prior to pushing the absorbent material into and/or through the capillary material. The wound dressing contains a wound dressing composition. A method of manufacturing the wound dressing composition includes making a layer of capillary material and a layer of absorbent material, attaching a layer of capillary material to a layer of absorbent material to form bonded layers and punching holes in the bonded layers. The wound dressing or wound dressing composition is used to absorb fluid released from a physiological target or to interrupt the flow of fluid released from a physiological target.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the volume of fluid on the surface of the wound and to prevent excessive wetting of the wound surface.
