SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING VITAL SIGN OF SUBJECT Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B5/11 A61B5/24

Abstract RU 2669619 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to means for determining vital signs of a body. System comprises a sensor attached to a patient to obtain a vital sign of said patient, a marker attached to said sensor, a processor for processing the vital sign information signal measured by the sensor, an image processing unit for determining movement of the marker based on the images from at least one imaging area containing said sensor, the image analysis unit being configured to determine the location of the marker and one or more additional markers attached to one or more other sensors and/or the patient's body based on images, an alarm unit for generating and outputting an alarm signal based on the measured vital sign information signal and/or obtained vital sign and on the detected movement of said marker, the alarm unit being configured to: generate and output an alarm signal, if the measured vital sign information signal and/or the vital sign satisfy a first condition and if the detected movement of said marker satisfies a second condition, or said first condition is adapted based on the detected movement of said marker, suppressing the alarm signal, if the detected movement of said marker satisfies the second condition, the alarm unit being configured to generate and output an alarm signal if it is detected that the sensor is either not installed or installed incorrectly, or is installed on the wrong part of the body, or is installed on the wrong patient. Plethysmographic sensor for use in the system comprises at least one light source for emitting light onto the patient's skin covered by the sensor, and a photodetector for receiving light reflected or transmitted through the patient's skin, in which the sensor is designed so that light from at least one light source is emitted away from the skin. Method for determining a patient's vital signs uses the system and machine-readable medium.

EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to reduce the likelihood of false alarms.
