SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing a tyre tread with lugs and a system for carrying out said method. Invention can be used to improve the production of tyre treads for agricultural vehicles. Method of manufacturing a tyre tread with lugs, comprising a tread base layer and a plurality of lugs, each of which projects up from the tread base layer and has a lateral portion located at a shoulder of the tyre, and a centre portion located in the centre area of the tyre, the method including steps of: preparing a green-rubber blank tread, applying green-rubber blocks to the areas of the blank tread where the lugs are to be formed, each block having an outer wall located at a shoulder of the blank tread, and an inner wall opposite the outer wall and located in the centre area of the blank tread, curing the blank tread, together with the blocks, in a curing mould negatively reproducing the pattern of the tread, each block being made from at least three different green-rubber compounds by co-extruding the green-rubber compounds in one extruder, wherein intermediate layer of green rubber located between the two other layers of green rubber is made from recycled green rubber.

EFFECT: invention provides a minimisation of the movement of rubber within the vulcanisation mould and, therefore, the production of a very even tread base layer, that is layer of constant thickness over its entire area.
