SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rubber-based mixture for vehicle tyre treads. Sulphur-crosslinkable rubber-based mixture comprising at least one diene rubber and 10 to 200 phr of at least one silica and from 2 to 20 phf of at least one silane with a general empirical formula [(R¹)₃Si-X]_mS_n(R²)_2-m, where the radicals R¹ may be the same or different in one molecule and represent alkoxy groups having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and wherein X comprises at least one urea derivative as a polar functional group bearing an organic hydrocarbon group on two nitrogen atoms, where the group between the first nitrogen atom of the urea-containing group and the sulphur of the Sn-group is aliphatic, and the group between the second nitrogen atom of the urea-containing group and the silicon atom (R¹)₃Si-group is aliphatic, and where m is 1 or 2, and wherein n is an integer from 1 to 8, and wherein R² represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.

EFFECT: invention provides a rubber-based mixture with a high stiffness without a significant negative effect on the balance between the roll resistance and the wet grip of the tyre.
