FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology, and is intended for the diagnosis of polypoid choroidal vasculopathy. Patient with suspected polypoid choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) is given ophthalmoscopy and, if at least one of the following is found: exudative maculopathy in the absence of noddles, serous and/or subretinal pigment epithelial haemorrhage (PEH), subretinal hemorrhage, subretinal orange-red nodules, solid exudates, additionally perform optical coherence tomography (OCT) with the module of improved visualization of the choroid. If during the OCT a thickening of the choroid is found in comparison with the age norm and at least two of the following signs: PEH with medium reflectivity content and hyporeflective lumen in the center, dome-shaped PEH, a sign of "gear", multiple PEH, then optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A) is additionally performed. If at least one of the following signs is detected during OCT-A: network of abnormal vessels at the level of choriocapillaris, rounded or annular formations with increased blood flow, an angiography with an indocyanine green dye (ICGAG) is prescribed.
EFFECT: method provides a reduction in the number of unreasonably conducted angiographies with the indocyanine dye green, while its accuracy remains unchanged, and the risk of a life-threatening complication, anaphylactic shock, is reduced by selecting patients with suspected PCV for ICGAG.
