SUBSTANCE: in the method, a pack is formed which is a stack of absorbent paper napkin material placed in a package. In the stack, the napkin material forms panels having a length and width that are stacked on top of each other to form a height (H) extending between the first and second end surfaces of the stack, and the package surrounds the stack to maintain the stack in a compressed state at the selected packaging density D0 of the stack and the selected packaging height H0. Material of napkins is a material of dry creping, and the selected packing density D0 is from 0.30 to 0.95 kg/dm3, or the napkin material is a structured material, and the selected packaging density D0 is 0.20 to 0.75 kg/dm3, or the wiper material is a combined material comprising at least one layer of dry creping material and at least a structured material and the selected density D0 is 0.25 to 0.80 kg/dm3. In this process, each part of the stack is compressed in the height direction (H) to receive the time height H1 constituting c1×H0, where c1 is from 0.30 to 0.95; and apply the packaging on a stack. Invention also provides an apparatus for carrying out the method and a bundle obtained by the above-described method.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a reduction in transportation costs by reducing the volume of the pack without deteriorating its quality.
