FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method and an apparatus for pressing an elongated ream of the folded absorbent sanitary articles for forming a log from sanitary tissue articles. Folded absorbing sanitary-hygienic paper products ream is transported along the pressing path from the inlet end to the outlet end, wherein the pressing path is formed between the first and second opposite conveying surfaces provided on the first and second pressing members. First press element is moved towards second pressing element from position corresponding to first interval, into position corresponding to second interval, for stack compression and log formation, wherein the pressing path has a length that is greater than the length of the foot, and during pressing of the stack moves along the pressing path relative to the pressing elements. During this process, the foot will be pressed from the first height to the second height corresponding to the second interval.

EFFECT: described is a method of pressing elongated ream of folded sanitary-hygienic paper products.
