SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a toner cartridge, to a toner supplying mechanism, and to a shutter to form electrophotographic images. Claimed group of inventions includes variants of toner cartridges detachably mounted in a receiving device. Toner cartridge comprises: a container including a positioning portion for positioning the toner and an outlet for discharging the toner from said placing part to a receiving device, and an opening/closing element including a closing section for closing the said outlet opening and an engaging section movable with respect to said closing section, besides the said opening/closing element being rotatable relative to said container between (a) an open position for urgently opening the said outlet opening by said closure section and (b) a closed position for urgently closing the said outlet through the said closure section, wherein the said engaging section is movable relative to said closing section between (c) the engaged position for engagement with the receiving device, to take the force for moving the said opening/closing element from an open section to a closed position, when the said toner cartridge is removed from the receiver, and (d) the retracted position withdrawn from the engaged position, and wherein the said engaging section can be moved from the retracted position to the engaged position with the rotation of the said opening/closing element from the closed position to the open position.
