FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of constructional materials, namely to methods for manufacturing high-temperature, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant products from a reaction-sintered composite material based on silicon carbide, and can be used in a number of industries, including aviation. Summary of the invention consists in forming a preform based on a composition consisting of a fine dispersed filler and a temporary binder, firing the formed billet at a temperature providing complete removal of the volatile products from the temporary binder and siliciding the billet in a vapor-liquid phase in a vacuum in silicon vapors during the mass transfer of silicon into the pores of the material by capillary condensation of vapors. Finely dispersed filler is a mixture of silicon-inert to the silicon at the process parameters of the process of silicization of the compound and an active element or compound that forms with silicon refractory carbides and / or silicides and / or ternary compounds, the particle size of the active and passive elements is taken in a ratio of not less than 1:5 with their grain size unchanged. Particle size of the compound inert to silicon does not exceed 25 mcm. Silicization is carried out at a final temperature of 1,300–1,400 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the energy consumption of the silicification process.
