SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for use in mining enterprises to increase the efficiency of the technological process of moving mountain machines using autonomous diesel-generator stations. In the method of controlling electrical equipment, when driving an excavator, the power at the input of the machine is continuously measured, which is compared with the two settings: and P2=kmPy, where Pe and ηppm. First setting P1 corresponds to the maximum power that can be provided when the engine brakes. Second set point P2 corresponds to the maximum power that a diesel-generator station can provide. Power range 0≤P≤P2 corresponds to the normal operation of the diesel generator set. Power range P1≤P≤0 corresponds to the permissible operating mode for energy recovery from the load side. If the active power exceeds the value of P2 or the excess of the active power during the energy recovery of the value of P1 the speed reference is corrected for the travel drive, that the active power at the input of the excavator is limited within P1≤P≤P2.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the reliability of the operation of electrical equipment by organizing the control of recovered energy.
