SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of epoxidated additive poly (5-ethylidene-2-norbornene) (O-PENB) and to separation of gas mixtures using membranes based on said polymer. Disclosed is an epoxidated additive poly (5-ethylidene-2-norbornene) for separating CO2-containing gas mixtures selected from mixtures CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4, characterized by general structural formula (I), weight average molecular weight Mw = (1.0–30) × 105 g/mol and polydispersity index Mw/Mn=1.5–5.0. Also disclosed is a method of membrane separation of gas mixtures selected from mixtures CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4.

EFFECT: increased gas permeability and selectivity during membrane separation of CO2-containing gas mixtures.
