FIELD: hydraulic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used to quench the energy of a water stream in terminal devices of closed pipelines and tunnel culverts. Energy absorber contains underwater pipe 1, pressure conduit 2 located inside well 3. Well 3 in the upper part has additional blanking chamber 4. Inlet pipe 5 and the tubular part of pressure conduit 2 with outlet pipe 6 are interconnected by channels 7 and 8 with smoothly varying cross-sectional areas. Reflective 9 and 12 arcuate plates are provided with outlet holes 14. Body of the well 3 inside forms chamber 15 and 16 connected by means of gap 17 between tubular outlet pipe 6 with blanking chamber 4 connected to discharge chute 18, the bottom of which is connected to discharge pipe 19 with adjustable valve 20. Outlet end of the tip of nozzle 6 is provided with protrusions 21 and 22, to which additional reflector 23 is rigidly attached, made in the form of a spherical screen with an upward bulge, the ends of which are bent downwards in diameter.
EFFECT: kinetic energy quenching efficiency is improved, reliability is increased and construction costs are reduced.
