SUBSTANCE: lithium-ion battery with an anhydrous electrolyte containing an ion source added to the positive electrode, and can be used to suppress thermal runaway of the battery during its operation. Increasing reliability of the lithium battery is the effect of the invention, which is achieved due to the fact that an ion source is added to the positive electrode, inactive during the electrochemical reaction, and the ion source contains a reactive anionic group and a cation associated with the reactive anionic group, and the ion source capable of releasing a reactive anionic group by absorbing thermal energy to react with a positive electrode active material, wherein the reactive anionic group has at least one bond selected from a boron-oxygen bond, a sulphur-oxygen bond, a silicon-oxygen bond, an aluminium-oxygen bond and phosphorus-oxygen bonds.
EFFECT: ion source does not participate in the electrochemical reaction of the lithium battery during charging and discharging, and is able to absorb thermal energy caused by the rise in temperature of the lithium battery, which effectively suppresses the thermal runaway of the lithium battery.
