SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of transport engineering, in particular to the disc brake pads of vehicles. Pad comprises a support plate and a friction pad supported by this plate having a friction surface, partially defined by an outer edge, and an outer sidewall extending between the outer edge and the support plate. Outer edge consists of several outer side edges including the upper and lower outer side edges having a complex profile with several waves. Each wave has a crest and a hollow. Composite profiles of the upper and lower side outer edges are configured to direct the air flow along a cooling path that extends along the outer side wall along the crests and valleys of the waves of each complex profile during the operation of the friction pad.
EFFECT: improved thermal management and wear resistance are achieved.
