FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the installation of the bottom of an aluminum electrolyzer. This method includes the manufacture of cathode sections by heating the coal block and steel rod, applying a carbon-containing binder to the groove of the coal block, laying the steel rod into the groove and vibratory compacting the rod in the groove by means of a vibrator mounted on it with an offset from its center of gravity towards the flush and installation of the manufactured cathode sections in the bottom of the electrolyzer. Further, the manufacture process of cathode sections uses a mobile platform. Heating of the steel rod is carried out to a temperature of 720–750 °C. Heating of the coal block is conducted to a temperature of 170–190 °C. Manufactured cathode sections are heated to the formation of semi-coke, and the heated cathode sections are installed into the bottom lining of the electrolyzer preheated temperature of 120–150 °C, then, the packing of the peripheral and intersection joints with carbon-containing binder is carried out.
EFFECT: reduction of the swelling of the bottom is provided after the supply of the operating current, which increases the service life of the electrolyzer, reduces the thermomechanical stresses along the rod-groove line of the unit.
