SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic systems that provide storage, reading and transportation of hard sheet information carriers from one position to another, the longitudinal dimensions of which are comparable with the transverse dimensions. This system contains a storage device for storing information carriers, a device for loading and unloading information carriers, a control device with a computer. Moreover, the device for storing information carriers has a block of vertical transportation of information carriers, providing the ability to transport information carriers from one module to another, located above or below, and a unit for the horizontal transportation of information carriers capable of pushing the information carrier from a given cell of the device for storing information carriers to the unit for the vertical transportation of information carriers or to draw it inside a given cell of the device for storing information carriers.

EFFECT: technical result is the ability to quickly change the amount of information carriers during operation.
