FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to determine the stage of retinopathy of premature (RP) infants. Retinal images of patient's one eye are obtained: the central zone, the upper zone, the upper nasal zone, the upper temporal zone, the lower zone, the lower nasal zone, the lower temporal zone, the temporal zone, the nasal zone. Simulate a wide field image. Vascular network stands out from the wide-field image obtained. Part of the image that does not contain the image of the vessels is deleted. Fractal dimension of the circuit of the vascular network is determined using box-counting fractal analysis. On the basis of the obtained values of the fractal dimension determine the stage of RP: 1.2–1.3 – 1 stage; 1.31–1.4 – 2 stage; 1.41–1.5 – 3 stage; 1.51–1.7 – aggressive rear RP.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the accuracy of determining the stage of RP due to the use of a wide-field image of the retina in the analysis and determination of the fractal dimension of the vessels.
