FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to method for producing tris(2-pyridyl)phosphine from red phosphorus and 2-chloropyridine and can be used in the chemical industry. Method of obtaining tris(2-pyridyl)phosphine from red phosphorus and 2-chloropyridine in the system of potassium hydroxide/DMSO using small additions of water in an inert atmosphere at a temperature of 100–135 °C for 1–5 hours at a molar ratio of reagents red phosphorus : 2-chloropyridine : potassium hydroxide hemihydrate : water, equal to (0.1–0.15):0.5:(0.154–0.308):(0.056–0.11).
EFFECT: proposed an improved method of producing tris(2-pyridyl)phosphine, which allows to increase the yield of the target product.
