FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used to stabilize the movement dynamics of multi-axle railway carriages. In the method, a part of the wheel sets of the multi-axle railway carriage have no ribs, which does not disturb the centering of the carriage in the track. These rib-less wheelsets have an increased width of the rolling surface and reverse taper. Further, the width of the rolling surface is chosen in accordance with the magnitude of the lateral displacement of the wheels in curved track sections relative to the rail profile.
EFFECT: reduction in shear forces and a decrease in the wear rate of the wheel-rail system are achieved.
