METHOD AND PREPARATION FOR PREVENTING DAMAGE BY RADIONUCLIDES OF IODINE TO A HUMAN OR ANIMAL BODY Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61K38/00 A61K35/20 A61K33/18 A61P39/00 A23L33/17 A23L29/00

Abstract RU 2796757 C1

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preventing radiation damage. The purpose of the invention is to develop an effective method for preventing damage by iodine radioisotopes optimizing and correcting iodine metabolism in the post-prophylactic period. The invention is aimed both at solving the problem of effective protection of the population and animals from the damaging effects of radioactive isotopes of iodine, and at reducing potential disorders of iodine metabolism in humans and animals as a result of preventive measures. This goal is achieved by protecting against iodine radionuclides not only the thyroid gland itself, but also peripheral tissues — participants in iodine metabolism. The bound form of 4-hydroxy 3,5-diiodophenyl-containing compounds, for example, as part of protein or peptide molecules, is administered to the body preferably twice a day with a 10–14 hour interval; a single dose of the drug should exceed the physiological need for iodine by 100–1,000 times; an iodine-containing preparation is administered to the human body in the form of an oral monodose in the amount of 10–200 mg of iodine. The introduction of iodinated organic compounds into the body of an animal can be carried out as part of a food product, drink, biologically active feed additives, in various forms of vitamin and mineral premixes and various feed products. Enrichment of feed is carried out using a solid or liquid form of the drug.

EFFECT: method and preparation for preventing damage by radionuclides of iodine to a human or animal body.
