Kitchen appliance further comprises a processing system (130) coupled to the sensor for detecting the initial moisture content in said flour or product at said sensor reading and configured to generate a control signal indicative of the amount of water to be added to the compartment as a function of a certain moisture content. Also disclosed is a method for controlling the process of the cooking based on a flour food product.
