SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for casting an ingot and billet with direct cooling into a mould with a vertical cavity. Device (8) for distributing liquid metal comprises a body made of a refractory material, having base (12) and peripheral wall (14), and is mounted on casting table (2). Heat-insulating layer is placed under the base of the body. In the peripheral wall, at least one channel is made for the entry or exit of liquid metal into or from device (8), and at least one opening is made at the base of the body for feeding metal from device (8) during casting. On casting table (2), a plurality of devices (8) are arranged in a group in which the outlet channel of one device (8) is aligned with the inlet channel of adjacent device (8) and is connected thereto with a seal.
EFFECT: reduction of temperature differences in different parts of the distribution system, thereby reducing the deformation of the casting table.
