FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, namely to installations for filtration of molten metals and alloys in foundry, in particular, molten aluminium and its alloys, and can be used in foundry units for billet (cylindrical and flat ingots) or semi-continuous casting (aluminium rod, foil and ingots), where the technology requires elimination of non-metallic inclusions in the finished product. Plant includes a filtration chamber, which is a metal shell with a heat-insulating layer placed inside, a filtration box installed inside the filtration chamber, made on one side with an inlet chute for the incoming melt, and on the other side with an outlet chute for the outlet of the filtered melt passing through it, with two ceramic foam filters placed in it one above the other in the melt flow direction, a cover, inside which a gas burner is installed, wherein the cover is made in the form of a metal shell, closed from above by a metal plate with a hole made in its central part for placing a gas burner in it, inside the cover there is a refractory block made with a through hole and with a cavity in its central part, inside the cover, between its metal shell, metal plate and refractory block, there is a layer of heat-insulating material, gas burner is equipped with a combustion chamber in the form of a cylindrical shell from a heat-resistant alloy with outlet holes made on its side surface, holes are arranged uniformly along the circumference of the cylindrical shell in one or more rows and made with a total flow area equal to 25–30 mm2 for each kilowatt of gas burner power, wherein based on the power of the gas burner, the volume of the combustion chamber is 70–80 cm3 for each kilowatt of power of the gas burner, wherein the ratio of the inner diameter of the combustion chamber to its height is 0.5–0.6, with the power of the gas burner equal to 30–40 kW for each 0.01 m3 of the total volume of the ceramic foam filters, combustion chamber of the gas burner is installed in the through hole of the refractory block and is located in the cavity, in its central part, wherein the distance from the base of the combustion chamber to the upper ceramic foam filter is equal to 248–500 mm, wherein filtration box inlet chute for melt feed is designed with the possibility of being closed during the operation of the gas burner.
