FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: installations for filtering molten aluminum and its alloys in foundries. The installation includes a housing fixed to the base, a working chamber installed in it with inlet and outlet openings for molten metal, a vertical partition made of refractory material installed inside the working chamber, a porous filter element and a cover with electric heating elements and heat guns. To ensure reliable installation, the cover is made in the form of a metal shell, a heat-insulating block is installed inside the cover, a layer of heat-insulating material is placed inside the cover between its metal shell and the heat-insulating block, and an air flow distribution device is installed in the cavity in the central part of the heat-insulating block, which is made in the form of a hollow chamber with pipes located in its upper part for installing heat guns, and in its lower part - with outlet pipes for the air flow heated by heat guns. Electric heating elements are placed in a heat-insulating block along two opposite sides of the hollow chamber of the air flow distribution device.
EFFECT: enhancement of filtering molten metals.
