FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of equipment for heat treatment of steel sheets. In the method, the roll for supporting and conveying a steel sheet in the continuous annealing furnace, which has a heating zone, a holding zone and a cooling zone, contains a part formed by a shaft of ceramic material and is the center of rotation of the roll, and the main part of the roll of ceramic material formed in the circumferential direction of the shaft and having an outer peripheral surface in contact with the steel sheet. Said hearth roll is made with the possibility of using it in a section having an internal temperature of 700–1,300 °C in the heating zone, the holding zone and the cooling zone. Wherein ceramic material has ultimate strength at high temperatures of at least 300 MPa and thermal shock resistance not lower than 700 °C, where the main part of the roll has a multilayer structure made of a plurality of concentric ceramic layers of various materials, centered relative to the center of rotation of the roll. In this case, the service life of the roll is at least 10 years. Wherein the strength at high temperatures is bending strength at a temperature of 1,300 °C, the measured method defined in JIS R1604, and thermal shock resistance is the temperature difference that does not cause the formation of cracks during hardening and which is measured by the method defined in JIS R1648.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the durability of the roll.
