PEDICLE AWL Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/70 A61B5/53 H02J7/35

Abstract RU 2674230 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology, namely to spinal surgery, and can be used to treat injuries and diseases of the spine, with its transpedicular fixation (for example, with herniated discs, scoliosis, etc.). Pedicle awl is made in the form of a stylet and consists of pointed rod (2) with bipolar electro probe (1) located in it and fixedly connected to rod of handle (3) of optically transparent material. Inside handle (3) there is electronic current transducer (4) with input connected to bipolar electro probe (1), battery (5) of electronic current transducer (4) with charge indicator (10) and solar battery (9) connected to battery (5), as well as sound and light signaling devices of current amplitude (6, 7), connected to the output of electronic current converter (4). End part of handle (3) is made in the form of collecting lens (8). Solar battery (9) is placed on the main optical axis of lens (8) and has the shape of a circle. Distance between the solar battery and the collecting lens plane is: F(1±d/D), where F is the focal length of the collecting lens; d is the diameter of the solar battery; D is the diameter of the collecting lens.

EFFECT: removal of the limitation on the shelf life of the awl before its use and the possibility of its repeated use by recharging the battery using a solar cell device placed in a transparent case is achieved while maintaining the safety and reliability of the instrument at the same level due to its performance in a sealed monolithic case.
