SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry, in particular to method for environmentally friendly catalytic combustion of gaseous fuels in autonomous heating systems and in heat and power engineering. Claimed method and device for environmentally friendly catalytic combustion of gaseous fuels, including homogeneous combustion of gaseous fuel in air in terms of ratio of fuel / oxygen that is close to stoichiometric, further mixing resulting combustion products with additional amount of air and passing resulting gas mixture through catalytic oxidation zone comprising catalyst for deep oxidation of hydrocarbons and organic compounds with oxygen, at the same time in catalytic oxidation zone, catalytic blocks are used, consisting of alternating alternating layers of flexible microfiber catalyst in the form of woven or braided, or pressed flat webs and layers of structure-forming elements permeable to the reaction stream, including alternately alternating main volume elements and auxiliary volume structure-forming elements.

EFFECT: minimum content of harmful impurities (hydrocarbons, CO, carbon black and nitrogen oxides) and small dimensions and device metal intensity.
