FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of fuel combustion and process mediums heating includes catalytic oxidation of the gaseous fuel in presence of catalyst by the heated air as oxidant, with production of the oxidation products heating the process medium and air; for oxidation the fuel mixture is supplied that is produced by mixing of the heated oxidant with part of gaseous or evaporating liquid fuel, oxidation is performed by at least two stages; at the first stage air is used as oxidant, and at other stages as the oxidant the oxidation product are used, they are produced at the previous stage; at that the mixing temperature is maintained at least equal to temperature of complete evaporation of part of fuel supplied for mixing, at least equal to "ignition temperature" of the oxidation reaction, but not exceeding self-ignition temperature of the fuel mixture, and oxidation temperature is maintained at least equal to temperature of thermal stability of the catalyst and not exceeding temperature of beginning of the intensive creation of nitrogen oxides and carbon oxide; besides, air heating by the oxidation products is performed at the last stage after the process medium heating by them.
EFFECT: reduced metal consumption by equipment, reduced power consumption and expended range of fuels.
