SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines. Control device for an engine, equipped with an injector of direct fuel injection into the cylinder and an injector of fuel injection into the intake port is proposed. After a request to stop the engine occurs, the control device controls the operation of the engine so that the engine runs idle for a certain period of time after a request to stop the engine is received, moreover, all the fuel necessary for the engine operation is injected into the engine cylinder by means of a direct-injection injector when the injection injector to the intake port is inoperative, thus eliminating the accumulation of fuel in the intake port before the engine stops. After a certain time interval, the fuel supply is cut off by both injectors and the engine stops. After the engine restart condition is satisfied, fuel injection from at least one of the fuel injectors resumes and the engine starts.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing toxic level of engine exhaust gases when it is restarted.
