SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines. Methods and systems are proposed for controlling clogging of engine spark plugs in newly manufactured vehicles. According to one example, the method can include operating the engine according to a first direct injection fuel injection scheme including a single direct injection of fuel at an inlet when the engine is in the pre-set state, and a transition to a second direct fuel injection scheme different from the first one, including a separate direct fuel injection at the start of the engine in the post-delivery state.
EFFECT: improved mixing of fuel with air, which prevents the formation of areas of enrichment in the area of the spark plug and the formation of carbon deposits on the spark plugs of engines of newly manufactured vehicles, which contributes to improving the performance of the engines.
