FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to methods of quality control of seed. Method consists in soaking a foam seedbed of wheat seeds moistened with distilled water for 12 hours at temperature of 20 °C, measuring membrane potential of each grain, determining the average value of membrane potential for seeds and establishing germination of wheat seeds. Pre-use five experimental batches of wheat seeds of one variety with known germination in ranges of 80–88 %, 89–90 %, 91–93 %, 94–95 %, 96–100 %, for each of which membrane potential of each grain and the average value of membrane potential for seeds of each experimental batch are determined. Then, calibration dependence of germination on the average value of membrane potential for kernels of each batch of wheat seeds is established. Next, seeds of wheat of the same variety of unknown germination are used, which are pre-soaked on foam pad moistened with distilled water for 12 hours at temperature of 20 °C, and membrane potential of each grain is estimated, after which, according to obtained calibration dependence, germination of wheat seeds of this variety is established.

EFFECT: method allows to determine germination of seed material of any varieties of wheat with high precision.
